The Manifold Wisdom of God

I am always amazed as I read scripture, the love that God has for us mere mortals. He had from before the beginning of time, made a way to Him, and has never expected us to work our way to Him. Yet once we have become part of His family, he does have expectations that we are to represent Him to the world. The church is to be that representation. In 2 Corinthians 5:20 we are called Christ's ambassadors. According to one definition an ambassador is a motivated, enthusiastic and articulate person who serves as the backbone of a sovereign nation and represents their leader at many civic and social functions. What is so mind-boggling is that Jesus called us to that position knowing full well the heart of man. He knew beforehand that pride, dissensions, vain and foolish arguments would be present, yet He wanted us to represent Himself to the world in spite of those weaknesses! In Ephesians 3: 10 it states that it was His intent (God's)that through the church the manifold wisdom of God should be known to the rulers and authority in the heavenly realms according to to His eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. As I thought about this verse, I became very aware of the responsibility of the church! It states that spiritual powers are observing the church, and to the degree that the church is spiritually united it portrays the wisdom of God! I wonder how God's wisdom is being portrayed? Do the angels stand in awe of God's wisdom of reconciling mankind to himself at the cost of His beloved son? Or does satan rejoice that God's wisdom in reconciling man to himself at the cost of his beloved son is foolishness and in vain? God has believed that the church can can properly reflect His goodness, love, and wisdom because He gives us all that we need to be able to do such a work for Him, yet are we going to allow worldly pleasures, strife, vain arguments and dissensions to portray God's wisdom as foolishness? We are Christ ambassadors and let us be united and represent Him as the definition above states, motivated, enthusiastic and articulate person who serves as the backbone of our God and represents Him corporately for the world to see that God's wisdom is supreme!
